Find your way
Find your way when you arrive at the Bendigo Law Courts including:
- which entrance to use
- how to find your hearing
- where to check-in and lodge documents.
How to check in
After you go through security you can read the digital court schedule screens, or use self-service kiosks (Hargreaves Street entry only) to find information about where to go next. Remember that not all cases may be published.
You can speak with staff at the Infomation Desk (Hargreaves Street entry only) or staff at the Children's Court Services counter (Mundy Street entry only).
In most cases, you need to check in with court staff so that they know you’ve arrived. They will ask you questions, including if you have a lawyer or are representing yourself. If you are attending a hearing in the County Court of Victoria and the Supreme Court of Victoria you can go directly to the allocated courtroom or hearing room.
After you have checked in, take a seat in a waiting area until your hearing is ready to be called.

Getting help
If you don't know where to go, need help, or want to speak with someone there are different support options at the Bendigo Law Courts.
Kiosks
You can find self-service kiosks on the ground floor and level 1 (Hargreaves Street entry only). You can use the kiosks to search the court schedule, find your courtoom/hearing room, and view maps to find services and facilities in the building.
Information desk
If you need help or you’re unsure what to do, speak with staff at the Information Desk on the ground floor (Hargreaves Street entry only), or Children's Court Services (Mundy Street entry only), or visit the General Enquiries counters on level 1, or the VCAT Services on level 3.
Court Network
The Court Network(Opens in a new tab/window) volunteers provide support, information and referrals. At the Bendigo Law Courts they can help:
- explain the court or tribunal process
- recommend you to services
- support you in hearings and help you feel safe.
Look out for the Court Network volunteers with pink lanyards or visit Court Network on level 2.
Support services
There are support services you can connect with if you need help or want to talk to someone. You can find out which services are at the building on the Legal and support services pages.
Re-entry rules
You can leave the building for a short time if you need to. If you leave the building, please check with court staff on the progress of your case so you don't miss your hearing.
Please allow yourself at least 30 minutes to re-enter the building and go through the security screening process again.
Mobile phones, photography, and recording devices
Conditions of entry apply at all courts and tribunals buildings.
You cannot take photos, or record video or sound in the building.
You cannot use mobile, tape or voice recorders to record hearings. If this is required, you must ask the judicial officer (Judge, Magistrate, Member or Judical Registrar).
You can use your mobile phone in public areas only. Mobile phones must be switched off when you enter the courtroom or hearing room.
